An emotion that stood out to me was an out-of-character frustration from Antonius during the burn-on-stake scene. You can read more about my in-depth thoughts on it in page Anatomy: hope and Despair.
Elements picked out of this aftertaste:
Gate: a barrier blocking Antonius from God/desired truth, which incited the frustration
Ladder: Firstly, I didn't know people are burnt on a ladder instead of an actual stakes.
I really love the trace of human absence on dead objects, so it felt important to leave depression on the ladder to represent the missing person that was tired on the ladder. I tried making the tie with clay but aesthetically threads just works better.
Happy Accident:
I accidentally dropped Ophelia(my other plant) on the bowl and it chipped off perfectly. I wasn't satisfied with the piece beforehand and now having this broken edge really embraces the out of control/character narrative!
